Also a place to get it put on. any good places around me.

do a search!!!! there are so many threads on cheap lifts. You can fit 33x10.50 tires with no lift.

body lifts.

torsion bar lift

etc. Its all up to you.

Once again, all personal opinion.

Some say they don't like body lifts for what ever reason they have.
others like body lifts because it allows to run bigger tires, you can get closer to a flat belly, and you don't weaken the ifs by changing the angles on the steering components.

 

Your best bet right now is to try the search function and be prepared for a lot of reading. But in the mean time.



For inexpensive tires go to treadwright.com.

For a mild lift that you can do in the driveway I recommend ball joint spacers and either an add-a-leaf (if you have leaves), adding a coil spring helper (again if you have leaves) or coil buckets (if your truck has coils).

Oh and if you're planning on going with bigger tires start thinking about gears to match..... and perhaps a locker or two........

Least expensive way?

Install 33x10.50 on your stock rims, bolt em on and drive away. This method also eliminates all the downsides of a lift - higher center of gravity, increased steering component wear, etc.

 

Thanks dude that was what i was looking for. I just cant afford a lift right now an i have a/t tires but i want something more aggressive. If i do go in this direction, what gears would i have to think about. i mean thats a pretty big job isint it

 

Your COG goes up the most with a tire lift. Your lifting everything including the axles up 1" if you from 31" to 33" tires. Mind you, it that lifting this way is the most effective in terms of performance gains.

 

how can I put 33's under my 88 4runner without having to beat on the truck to make the tires not hit the fender when I have the steering wheel turned all the way to the side and I hit a bump?
the truck came with 28" tires stock

Just let them rub! After a while, your fenders will be formed a bit more, and will no longer interfere. Best part is, its free!!!!!!!!!!

 

33's won't fit on the truck...my brothers truck with 31"s rub so definitely NOT 33's.

dude. it is a well known fact that says 33's can fit with no lift. does your brothers truck have different rims because that will make them rub. 33x10.50 (skinny) will fit on stock rims with only slight massaging of the fender wells.

What? is it 2wd?? i ran 33x12.5's on my old truck with stock susp and no rub.. it was an 86 and ive seen it done on 3rd gens

as for lift ideers:

its kind of like you can get quality or low cost.
imo cheapes lift you could do without sacraficing the strength of yer rig would be this:
2" bj spacers
an inch or less of tbar if you want it
rear 3" aal
shackles if you want em
for tires i would recomend bfg muds or a/t's they are a very nice tire and easy on the wallet

 

and 2" backspacing.

 

If you cant make 33's rub you arent trying hard enough

235/75/15's on my truck, they nearly touch on the rear. Front will take 33's no problem though because it is really hard to stuff the torsion bar setup into the wheel well without lifting a tire.

 

talk to TC and tell him that he doesn't push is stock truck with 33's hard enough. The key is the 10.50 width.
