I have a Yakima cargo rack on my 94 PU. I am looking for a mount for a metal 5 gallon gas can and I would like to mount it to the Yakima rack. I am no where near a welder for the next 5 months so I need to buy a holder for this gas can.
Any ideas??

Ratchet strap

 

I tried that. It lasted half a day off road and came loose. My problem with the ratchet strap is the side of the basket is too low to stabilize it properly.

I am sure this is a silly question but.. Can the gas can be mounted horizontal opposed to verticle??
I dont think I have ever seen one mounted horizontal.

you can mount it sideways but the siily carb aproved nozzle will leak on your truck. Where in nor cal?
