Aren't the $45 ones universal 4-wire? I went to sparkplugs.com and they wanted $98 or so for the direct plug in ones (the Denso part # I posted).

Sure you can get that $45 cheap Bosch junk. The Denso one is the factory OEM equipment, and it works the FIRST time without having to cut, splice, and hope it works.

i dunno mine was a cheapo like 28 bucks at kragen and it pluged right in, but then again what is the purpose on an 87 pickup? i ended taking it off and my truck runs the same. huh?

I went with the Bosch $45 one (got it from eBay) and my truck ran the same and threw the same code. So far so good with the Denso unit I posted in my original post *knocks on wood*.

if it throws codes again try the downstream sensors. from what i understand is those are the ones that tells your computer hoe the vehicle is running. idk.

From: Cincinnati, Ohio - Amelia is the exact place. There is no one else on this site from where I am. Seems like everyone is from Cali or Washington. I guess I need to move.
Ebay has great prices on them! You can get on for like 9.99 OEM, with 215 thousand miles on it, and all burnt up. I used one and it works for me! It will probably go bad in a week or two but oh well.

Jay351's truck is a 1991. It's a different O2 sensor than yours. His is listed as $47.85. I bought mine from the same place but I have a 1993...and the O2 sensor was about $97.00. But it evened up...his plug wires were way more than mine.

I find the little differences between trucks of the same generation very annoying.
