S-10 Zr2

I already know I can get shot for asking this, but my dad wants another pickup and is looking at the S-10 Zr2 models, he loves the way they look and I have to admit I like the way they appear on the outside also, and they have more than enough power, just have a question on the reliability. I've heard very good things about it, but since yota's are the kings of reliability, I'll ask you guys.

they are alright if left stock, but if the front end needs work or if you ever want to lift it, the stay away... they are a PITA to work on...
and since its a "special suspension setup" parts are expensive...
stick with the basic 4x4 s-10 or have him get a yota...
