Grey transmission fluid

I changed my transmission fluid today and added the MC bushing set as well. The fluid that came out of the transmission was opaque grey (not clear at all). Is this normal? The previous owner stated all fluids were changed at 160K, and the diffs and transfer case fluids look like new when I checked them today.

I am not sure if he just did not change the transmission fluid or if something could be leaking into the transmission. I measured a little under 3 qts of fluid that I drained from the transmission and I added 3qts of Redline MT-90 through the shifter location. The new fluid came out of the fill hole after 3 qts so that is all I added.

Is it glittery metallic in the light? Usually gray or silver 90wt is a sign of metal in the oil.

The drain plug did have some metal on it but nothing like the pictures above.

Yes, I would say the drained fluid was "glittery" but I did not see anything bigger than small particles. The new oil was definately not grey.

The age of the oil is what I need to know but that is not really possible. The transmission shifted fine before but is really smoothe now, so I will check it in a month and see what it looks like.
