17" fjcruisers alloys

has anyone tried to fit 17" fjcruiser wheels on a ifs 1st gen 4runner?

just wanted to know if they are going to require spacers?

and if so what size they needed to be?

suggestions on where the best ones to buy.

I sent a txt to a mechanic at a Toyota dealer, asking for the backspacing measurement. Dunno when he'll get back to me, but it's a start.

thanks.

i found some info on them on the fjcruiser forum. they are saying 4.5" of back space.

and i found that an fj80\fzj80 can accept the wheels without spacers.

i know the runner can accept either the fj80\fzj80 wheels no prob.

i did not get any help from the local toyota stealership yet.

found some local for a great price and i just want to run them in town on pavement light offroad.

parks an otherwise will be left to the tundra steelies.

im not sure how i feel about that...
too much rim and not enough sidewall, or the fact that it doesnt go good with the red truck...
might work better on a truck thats lifted and running 35s...

What size tires are you running on the 17" fj cruiser rims?? Is your speedo thrown off by much? I was thinking of doing this, but, I don't want the speedo being too inaccurate.

Thanks,

speedo wouldnt be thrown off unless he goes with larger tires than stock...
so, keep the same size (ex. 31 inch) tires you have now, and all will be good

yeah those would have looked good on my truck as well.

those were the wheels i was after.

just got such a good deal on these i couldn't pass them up.

these wheels and tires are going to be my on road set.

the tires actually measure in at 32".

35's are out of the question for this truck.

i had 33" yokohama at's on it before so i have plenty of lift.

this set up is a bridgestone dueler ht 265 75 r17.

they measure in at 32" and they are about half way through their tread life.

i am not sure how far off the speedo is, but i know it is off.

it really doesn't bother me b/c i have driven modified toyotas for so long that i just pace myself with other vehicles in traffic.

i just want everyone to know that these wheels work on the ifs front trucks without spacers.

if you want to run these wheels on a solid axle you will need spacers.
