I have recently replaced my transmiision in my 86' 4runner and I am still having the same problem . When it gets to operating temp. It want shift right. Someone told me it was a temp. sensor. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

 

First thing you should do is unplug the control unit for the tranny and do a manual shift. This will let you know if you have an electrical problem or mechanical problem. The unit is in the front of the console under the radio. You will not have 2nd gear, because the shift solenoids will not be working, D will be OD.
