3.4 SuperCharger Tuning

I plan on getting the TRD S/C RC 310 injectors and 190lph fuel pump.Is the Apexi S-AFCII a good piggyback controller . Is this my only option cause I don't have a laptop and I don't want to buy one. How hard is it to tune the engine with this. I want to have at least 250 rwhp

My Future Set Up
TRD S/C
RC 310cc Injectors
190lph Fuel pump
SSautochrome headers
Cutom exhaust
AEM intake

I'd recommend either the SMT-6 in conjunction with the ESC1 or the FTC1-E for your piggy-back.

I would buy the SMT- 6 or the FTC1-E but I have no laptop and I don't want to buy one just to tune my truck(maybe in the future I will). Also with the guys having hard starting problems with the SMT-6 is another reason I don't want to get one. I am just looking for something that will controll the 310cc injectors and tune the Air fuel curve and the only one that I know that can handel it is the APEXI S-AFC. I would like to get the smt-6 but no laptop and the problems with the newer engines is making me not buy one.
Also how would you use the SMT-6 and the FTC1-E together

You wouldn't use the FTC!-e and the SMT-6 together, but you could use the ESC1 and SMT-6 together. The ESC-1 is a line conditioner that triggers the ECU into open loop under boost conditions. The FTC1-E includes the ESC-1 with it, but it doesn't advance timing like the SMT-6 does.

Probably your best best would be to get a Unichip, and have it tuned twice. Once on your stock engine, and then once again on your fully modded engine. Then you'll never have to worry about it again.

What is your rear axle ratio?

That AFCII thing, does it control timing and if so what does it do?

With all that stuff you have been posting all of the Net about, why don't you want to buy a cheap PC to tune you truck with?

The ESC is not likely going to work on your truck. I do not know about what is shipped to that part of the world, but the US trucks have the new style air/fuel ratio sensor instead of the old style O2 sensor and the ESC will not work with those. If you can verify that you do have the old style O2 sensor, then the ESC is a perfect companion to what ever tuner box you get. It will really solve a lot of driveabilty problems in the mid range.

Have you added up what that stuff is going to cost you total yet?

4:08 Gear Ratio

Gadget the SAFCII only dose the A/F @ every 250rpm incriments insted of every 500Rpm like the old SAFCI. As for the o2 sensor how can I tell if it is the new or old style.
And the cost is this
TRD 3.4 S/C $1800 w/ free install @ Racers Edge
Spintech Pro Street 3'' exhaust w/ 2 1/4 Hi-Flow cats $300
RC 310cc injectors and 190 fuel pump $:650
APEXi SAFCII $330
SSautochrome Headers $250(maybe lower the one on ebay was for sale for $175.00)
Total=$3330+

If you can be a tad patient, there is a company that I am working with now helping them to put together a nice fuel upgrade kit. I think it will be a little better then you have planned and I think it might come in a little less money for you.

Of course you will need a PC to set it up.

Gadget,
How can you do that to us? Drop information like that and not give details. What can you tell us about the kit?

Thanks,
Rick

Well, what can I say. I guess the cat is out of the bag now. I have recently partnered up with a good friend and we have formed our own business. After years of trying to get a reputable company to market a decent supercharger performance upgrade kit so the rest of you can have as much fun as I am, I gave up.

I have always said that anything worth doing is worth doing right, so I will. I have made some great contacts over the years and it is now all really paying off. We have lined up some really great products and some great suppliers. It is all coming together and you all will see some things happening very soon. Well, just as soon as our web designer gets done having her baby. If she just could of waited a week or two...

Stay tuned!

That's awesome...but I want details I have not gotten the supercharger exactly for the reasons you mentioned. I don't have the technical knowledge, time or money to "piece-meal" a system.

I look forward to getting more info...

Anyone up for a group buy?

Rick
