Unhappy Brake woes 2nd gen.

Well, was driving the 4 runner sunday and stepped on the brake and heard a weird sound. The 4 runner was not as quick to stop, but it did stop. The wife then says, "oh yea, its been making a funny sound when I step on the brakes". So upon inspection, I saw what I feared. The inboard pad on the right front brake had worn its top half down to the metal. The rotor is scored up now. The other pads were getting close to needing replacement, but I still had about 6 months time on them left if not maybe even a year. Anyway, I just ordered new Toyota rotors and pads from Todd at Toyota of Richmond. I got right at, if not slightly better pricing than the other places mentioned in the vendors section. I also picked up a set of pads for my truck. In a few days I will be changing the rotors out. I still had more life left on the old rotors, but since part of the one got chewed, I thought it best to replace them. Later.

You did the right thing by replacing them.....you risk warpage later if you turn em.
