Do they use SALT in Indiana or Minnesota?

Hi there, hoping someone can help me out.

I'm looking at a truck that's been driven in Indiana and Minnesota and was wondering if they use salt on the highways in the Winter in those states.

thanks

I know they use salt in the twin cities, but not down where I live... (10 miles from the Iowa border)

^x2....It snows in the mountain states, and I think they use calcium...not salt.

Beware, if you live in a state that uses both, rust will be accelerated, I am seeing a lot more rust lately, especially brake/fuel lines, and Maine uses both.

If it snows, they use SOMETHING that will eat your frame, whether they call it salt, mag-chloride, or something else - it's gonna rust your shizzy.

the calcium stuff, will NOT rust anything, unless salt is also used.
