Help! The axle shaft saga continues

Thanks to all of your help my 93 is in the air, hubs disassembled and the axle shaft is loose inboard and outboard. But how the heck do you get the axle shaft out of the there!! It's binding no matter how I twist and turn and it doesn't flex enough to come out through the hole in the lower control arm. Am I missing something? How do you remove it once everything is loose? Someone had mentioned dropping the lower control arm by loosening the four bolts that hold it in place (at the ball joint), but that will be another day of penetrating oil and trying to break the bolts loose. Is that the only way they come out?

Knock the studs off the axle to get some extra room. Then try jacking up under the bottom A-arm to straighten out the angle. That is all it takes for me to do mine and I do mine without having to jack the whole truck up. This is a very good time to replace those studs with the same size bolts as you'll more than likely damage them while pounding them off.
