Potential Owner. Questions!

Hello!

First of all I want to say HELLO from Ontario, Canada.
I am new to this forum and found my way from toyotanation.com where someone recommended this site for 4Runners.

I did a quick search but I didn't return much.

There is a potentially good 1999 4Runner SR5. It has 97000km on it. The car has all the power options, sun roof and ABS. Its automatic and SR5. Thats all I know about it as of now. Does anybody have a rough estimate on how much its worth?

I was just wondering if there are any "common problems" that I should look out for. Any recalls? Any problems that are evident throughout the line? Is rust a problem for any owners?

I have faith in my Toyota's, but I just thought I would make sure! (I also have a Previa @ 257000km)

I am unaware of any problems. What do you plan on doing with it? Road, off-road, mods?

Ontario...

Great! More Ontarians!
I've heard that's a big Province and can hold something like 12 Texas-sized states. Whereabouts are you? That alone can create a 20% difference in price.

I think the 96 and 97 had a recall on their headgaskets. I believe your year may have a recall on the rear springs but thats it.

I always like to run a carfax just in case.

And also, if it's possible go check it out yourself.

P.S. ~ You should try to get one with the factory rear locker

Blue Book

Go to a search engine and type in "blue book value" and you should get some sights that will let you tell them exactly what you are considering with all the vehicles options and mileage and it will tell you what it is worth on the fair market. That's what I did when I recently bought my 2000 SR5 loaded with 42K on it. It blue booked around 24,900 and I paid 19,900, so I felt like I got a great deal.

Hope this helps!
