Brembo Rotors Grinding

I just installed new brembo rotors on my 01 4Runner and the rotor is contacting/grinding against the caliper on both sides of the car. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Loose ball joints?

This may sound stupid.....but did you reuse your old brake pads?

If the rotors are hitting the calipers then you have the wrong rotors. Loose ball joints could not possibly cause this.

What size of wheels do you have, if they're 15" then the rotors are smaller. Sounds like you got some of the larger rotors, that go with the bigger brakes on the 16" wheel models.

thanks, i did replace the pads and everything else seemed to fit OK. I'll check the model number of the brembo rotors. my 4runner was originally equipped with the 15" wheels.

Any other ideas? The rotors are the correct model number, 25513, for the 15" wheel.

did you check them against the ones that came of the truck. I've learned the hard way that model #'s don't mean squat. the engineers at Powerstop assured me that they would make the right ones after performance products sold me the wrong ones. after 3 months of playing cat and mouse with them, they finally told me that they cound'nt make them. drilled and slotted are hard to do together . measure the old rotor diameter. that is the only way to be sure.
