Posi, limited, or open?

I purchased my 83 pickup not too long ago, been tinkering with it in my spare time. Decided to take a look at drivetrain. Its had quite a lot of work done to it so I wanna know about the diffs. W/o taking my plate off or trying to smoke 35's with a 4cyl, how can i tell weither i have posi, limited, or open diffs? And just to be sure since its been awhile, to check gear ratio raise the rear end, drop driveshaft, chock one tire (i think), then turn the yoke till the tire turns one full rotation right?

not sure about the gear ratio but if you jack up the rear end and spin one tire and the other goes the same way then you have posi, if it goes the opposite your open or lsd'ed. If it spins op. raise just one side, spin the tire and see if you can keep going or if it only goes a little bit, little, limited, keeps going, open.
