Gurgling sound when truck starts

I get a distinct gurgling sound from behind the radio roughly when I start my truck. Is this the sound of a radiator in need of burping?

I usually tell my passengers that the sounds is battery fluid going to the radio. SOme people actually believe me too.

Do you burp the system via the rad cap, or what?

Mine used to do that ALOT before I changed out my leaky rad and burped the system.

Just jack up the front end a good ft or two if you can, open the rad cap, set the heater to hot and start the truck. Let it run till its at operating temp and that should get all the air out.

I always thought I had a hobo living behind my radio.

It should. That water sound is air in the lines. Make sure you dont have any leaks, if coolant can get out, air can get in. Then you are just wasting your time.
