bent or broken valves on 3VZE 95 4runner

I think i might have bent a valve because when i turn it on there is a very loud knocking sound on the passenger side of the motor.... Is there a possibility that the valve or valves (hope not) may stilll be in good condition, maybe just adjust the timing a little bit, or since im hearing that noise does that mean i need to replace it for sure..

my grandpa had a prong break off his spark plug and fall into the cyl. resulting in a loud knock he got it out and was just fine.
cross your fingers and check your plugs

so when you start it up, it's quiet, but after a few seconds you hear a knock, then it stops?
check you engine mounts.

ok,, cuz a couple days ago the timing was way off and when i started it up the motor was just shaking like crazy,, so that would also be a good possibility.. and yes to your answer about the hearing the noise for a couple of seconds and then it would go away...

but also i forgot to mention is that is starts making that sounds again... so i that still possible about the motor mounts?
