2nd gen factory roof rack location dimensions

A little help please..I'm installing a factory roof rack on my 4runner that never had one this weekend. I want to avoid removing the headliner to verify the holes will avoid the roof support ribs..can someone tell me where the factory rack is locateed on their rig...the approx. dimension from the back window opening verticle to the start of the rails...and the dimension from the moon roof opening to the front of the rails should work..thanks in advance for the help..

Just an FYI. The roof rack sizes were not all the same. Some were longer than others depending on the year of the truck.

I'll check out that write-up thanks. The rails I have are 53 3/4" long including the end caps. The assembled width is 37 1/2". I believe this rack is from a 95'.

I installed a factory rack I got from the wrecker - mine is only 36 1/2" long, off an earlier model. The holes in the factory rack are just shy of a foot apart (30cm). I put the first hole 10" from the back window frame edge and did not hit anything. I used nut-serts and stainless bolts to mount the rails. I can't speak for the longer rails, I specifically got the shorter ones as I didn't want to risk hitting any sunroof bits.

Hope it helps.
