Hi guys and gals, I'm new here, so if this has been discussed previously, please forgive my ignorance. I did do a search but didn't find the answers to these questions. I have a 92 22RE 5spd single cab 4wd that is in dire need of serious body work i.e. it's rusted, dented, parts missing, etc. I found a 1989 V6 Auto extended cab 4wd for cheap, with a decent body and bad engine. Will my 5spd trans bolt to a 3.0 V6? Will the rear driveshaft, flywheel, etc interchange, or am I stuck with rebuilding the 3.0 and keeping it auto? (I hate automatics) I know I can swap the whole drivetrain, but the 4 banger is barely adequate for a single cab truck... although I do have a couple of stock Subaru WRX turbos laying around...
