shock questions

With all the straight axle flex I see what kind of shocks are being used ? I am running 3" lift downey springs. The shocks I am running have 7 1/2 " of travel - not good!
I searched but didn't really find the info on what all the flex rigs are running.

I'm running 15" travel Pro Comp ES 9000s (they're cheap but, work real nice) up front on Ford F-350 shock mounts (had to cut holes in the inner fenders)......my homebrew rear/Downey leaf packs use up all the travel up front and I'm putting together Mazda packs for the rear with the same shocks--------Hans

Update
After setting up some flex ramps in my shop I found that I could run my current rear shocks without any problems they are 26.5x15.75 x 10.5 travel but the front shocks with only 7.5" of travel had to go. I could run up to 14.5 closed so I searched all brands for the best application for my stock mounts and the Rancho 9000 series P.N. RS99179 is the best fit for my application. They are 22.95x13.95 x 9.0 travel. 1 1/2" more than they recommend on the application charts from most of the shock manufacturers.
It pays to set up the ramps and find what will really work.

Yup, pulling the shocks and flexing the axles is the only real way to see what you require for shock length.
The only thing that ramps are good for, that and checking clearances, brake line lengths, etc.

Easy to set up a pair of small ramps to check the lengths for the shocks, given you don't have too much suspension travel:
