EVAP Canister on older P/U

There were many threads on the EVAP canister buzzing after the ignition was off on 96 4Runners. Has anyone had this problem with the older toyotas? In the last two days or so, when I turn off my pickup, it seems the purge line on the canister intermittenly buzzes? You knock on the canister, it quits.
It's a 89 4cyl 22RE M/T.
It seems weird that you could actually hear that check valve?

I believe you are able to clean them out and that should help stop it. not %100 sure about that though

Yea, I heard about blowing compressed air though the canister, to clean it, but to never "wash" the canister, give blowing it out a try tonight.

Ya I did that to my old can in my 94 4runner and it shot out some black stuff. blow into it and then shake it a few times and repeat. When I did it it would shoot out some dirt then seem clean and Ide do it a few more times and more would come out.

Try it and see if it helps!
