Here's the deal, I asked for the regular ones, he gave me these. Unfortunately, he charged me the "right" price, they're $4.99 ea.

First, they're platinum ... seems kinda mixed reviews on whether it's worth it. I've always used "regular" plugs before with no real issues.

Second, the box says "Do not adjust spark plug gap due to possible damage to fine center electrode". Ummmm .... yeah ...

NOTE: I haven't pulled any of the plugs yet, so I may not need them at all, just wondering if I should take these back and get the regular ones before I take the current ones out.

 

I run those. No problems absolutely fine.

Generally Platinum plugs last longer, and are just a tid bit better than "regular".

I see absolutely NO reason not to run them. Plus you got a 1 finger discount.

 

Hmmmm...I've never run anything but the regular ones myself. NGK or Denso, even. But, I do remember a thread from yonder days wherein TNRabbit mention there wasn't really any noticeable performance difference. Just that they lasted longer.

TN's not been around here in a great while, otherwise I'm sure he'd chime in.

Oh...my opinion...spark plugs are not difficult to change. So, since I've never had any issues with regulars (again...NGK or Denso<<<current), I just go economy. Stills performs well enough. Rebuilt injectors? Now, that made a difference.

 

Thread resurrection: I've run Denso, NGK & Bosch plugs, with ZERO performance difference between them. Currently running Denso Irridium to see how long they last (for YEARS I'm assuming since I haven't driven it in almost a year!!) :-)

 

Only plugs I have had bad luck with are bosch, and it was a turbo problem with blowout (at correct gap). NGK let me boost to my hearts content so I got some g power (7090) for my 4runner hope they work!
