Tires?

Could someone recommend me some tires? I currently have 185R14's, apparently 185/80, on my 2WD 86 Pickup. I'm looking for something cheap and durable - decent grip is welcome of course, but I don't care about noise/comfort (much). They'll never see freezing temps or snow here in NorCal. Nobody seems to make 185/80's, and TireRack suggests 195's and 205's - but how much wider can I get on the stock steelies without running into uneven wear/tucking issues or such?

Thanks in advance.

Skinny tires= better rain performance and better fuel economy.

I'm a bit of a nut, so given 185's on 14" rims, I'd first find out what the aspect ratio is: 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 90? then go up two on the cross section: from 185 to 205, then down one on the aspect ratio: say from 75 to 65.
Then depending on where and how I'd drive, I'd decide about speed rating: S, T, H, V...Z? (likely go with S or T) then traction conditions: street, mud, snow, rain.
Avoid putting passenger car rated tires on your truck. Use at least load range 'c'.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's 185/80 - they're slightly bigger than 185/75's. They're marked simply as 185R14, so I'm not positive.

I know what speed and load ratings are, but I was hoping for some specific recommendations. Or at least advice on what *not* to get.

Pick-n-Pull - "$12.95 For Any Tire" - selection varies day to day! Get lucky and get 'em on rims (extra cost). Look for matching pairs.

I gave you a specific recommendation based on what I know of your tire. go up 2 on the cross section and down 1 on the aspect ratio.
open the door of your truck and look at the sticker on the door jamb.

Thanks. I was hoping for some brand/model recommendations, though.
