I want to pull the electric doors off my 95 4Runner and put them on my 91 non electric 4runner.. I'm pretty new to the mechanics of these things and would like to keep the electric and not swap out the inards for the manual doors. How would I go about this? I read in another thread that it's as simple as wiring them to the battery or stereo power wire, is it this simple? Could you please give me a fairly detailed method...Thanks in advance.

Bumpity, bump.....29 reads and no responses, must be a little more difficult to do than I thought.

 

yeah a 12 volt positive and a ground on one end of the motor makes it go up and if you switch it it makes the window go down.. i know it will be pretty hard... might be easier to switch doors but even then the wiring isnt set up... i have a whole mess of cables going into the door i know because i cut and soldered everyone when i replaced the door.. on my manual window 4runner no wires run into the door... all the wires run into a harness in the kick pannel by the hood release... took me forever to figure out the 30 wires

 

I'm thinking I could pull the doors and all the wiring and trace the wires withing the body back to the fuse box and then disconnect them from there and rewire them into the 91 fuse box if there are open spots for fuses. Would this work or would a secondary fuse box be the better way to go?

 

well I did take the power window relay out of the truck with no power windows to place the blown fuse in the truck with power windows... so you might be on to something...

like I always say " aint nothing to it, but to do it"

 

Hmm I would go with the second fuse box, just in case I screw something up with the original, and then you got a nice spot for future fusses from lights n winch, n stuff.. But then again if they all do fit into the original box then it's much cleaner...Ya changed my mind, I say go into the original if they can all fit.
