Okay, lets try this again... I was wheeling with the guys from NWZR2.com They are a cool but crazy(in a good way) bunch that I met and got to wheel with. Here are the pics:

How could you let such a beautiful bumper get so dirty

 

 

Yeah, I thought that it was insane. The other pic shows Jimmy's Blazer on the edge of the "Pucker Drop" as we are calling it preparing to go off the drop. He did the drop for the first time in May when we went there last, by accident actually. He thought that he was on another drop, that was a lot less vertical. I like my truck too much to roll it on its top without a roll cage!

 

I didn't know those ZR2's were any good off road. My friend has one that looks exactly like the blue blazer in your pics. For some reason he won't take it off road with me!

 

The ZR2's did fairly well. It was kinda strange because they were for the most part confused about why I would air down before hitting the trail. The last time that I was there one of the guys couldn't make it up a certain hill, and made it this time because he actually tried airing down. Also that big S-10 ZR2 had 8" of lift, but no flex, and came close to tipping over many times. He was shocked that my barely lifted rig had as much articulation as it did~I mentioned the absence of my swaybar! All in all an interesting trip to say the least. I think that it is a good idea to wheel with the "other guys" from time to time to demonstrate the superiority of Toyota's design.

Wheeling with the TTORA Utah Chapter, makes me want a locker. Those Tacoma's climb like no other!

Man, I started getting tingly just looking at that pick. I have to agree with you Romeo- I care for my truck (and my own safety) way too much to go over something like that. As usual, I'm sure it looked even scarier in real life, since the pictures rarely do justice. Had he tapped on his brakes to make the rear come up off the ground like that? What did the terrain at the bottom look like- did it flatten out much, or did it keep heading down?

Jimmy (blue Blazer) did this same drop back on May31, when we went there to do some wheeling and camping. It was kinda crazy at first, as my friend started yelling that Jimmy had dropped off a cliff, and was running over to the edge, expecting to see him on his roof. Jimmy was down there and just looked up at him puzzled about all the yelling. I guess that by the time that he realized how steep it was, it was too late to back up. The dop is not that big, and slopes back to level pretty quickly. It is just the edge, as well as the rocks that they dropped off that forced the back end away from the bank that makes it look so fearsome. But hey I guess that I was a chicken... but I did have the only winch in the group so it would have been my job to rescue anyone that needed it~It was cool to watch, and better to get a picture.

Yeah, I got invited by Jimmy (Blue Blazer~a co-worker) to go on the run with the ZR2 guys. They are a motley bunch to say the least! The only strange part was the puzzled looks and questions as to why I was airing down before hitting the trail. There was at least one hill that Jimmy couldn't make it up last time since he didn't air down(he made it this time since he did air down). And Ryan (S-10 ZR2) raved about the added traction that he got with his 35" MTR's (even though he had no flex). All in all a great time. I think that it is good to wheel with everyone as it builds good relations among all of the 4 wheel "factions."
