2nd Gen Aftermarket Gauge Locations?

Got two 2 5/8 gauges I want to install. Anyone have a good place for them? Thought about the panel under the cig/ashtray, but they would actually point down somewhat. Other ideas/experiences? Pics would be great...

How do you like that piller pod Norcalsvx? I want to order one when I get some "mess around money" together.

Thinking of running - Oil pressure, volts and water temp guages.

Thought about the pillar idea, two things prohibitive: 1) Both gauges are mechanical (vac/tranny temp). Not impossible, but difficult. Second, I only have/want two gauges, Mosk sells 3 gauges for my app. Being that it's an auto, I'm considering something behind the shifter, aimed at the driver.

i like it fitment was great and i'm happy with it, i'm going to get some ele. autometers (water temp/oil pressure/ a/f ratio) pretty soon.

for a auto you can always get a tranny temp gauge for your 3rd gauge

If you have a single DIN radio, you can put up to three guages into the available DIN slot, with a little finesse. You can also get a small piece of PVC pipe in the right size to fit the housings, then cut spacers that are square on one end, and slightly angled on the other, so that you can tilt the guages toward the driver.

Yeah the 2 1/16" gauges fit the DIN slots good, the OP said he has those big 2 5/8" gauges though.

The Perrin gauge pod fits 2 of the bigger 60mm gauges.

I'm considering giving Breknraj's idea a shot. For the cost of PVC, worth a try! Thanks!

PS- Anyone done this? What were the results?

My bad, not noticing the larger size!

You might be able to fab an housing to fit in the space below the ashtray that would angle the guages up, so that you can read them. You might have clearance issues with the shifter, though.

Time permitting, I'm going to be prototyping/building a two gauge pod for the dashboard, above the vents, out of birch and fiberglass.
