Will a 31" tire fit in the stock spare location?

Just wondering. Will a 31" tire fit in the stock spare location? On a 90 4x4 pickup.

Yep. At lease it fit perfectly on my 84. Shouldn't be different for a 90.

I fit a 33X12.5 under there. I only had to bend two of the tabs a little bit and did so by hand.

my 88 runner 91 p'up both have about 3" clearance all around the spare and the tires up there on both of them now are P185/75r15- about 26" so a 31" is 5" taller and I've got 6" clearance.
If it don't fit when fully inflated, let a bit of air out and carry a compressor.

It won't with a trailer hitch, otherwise its fine.

Mine came from the factory with a 31 x 10.50 spare, I have a 33 x 12.50 there now. It didn't quite fit competely up in place, but pretty close. Later I cut and rewelded the holder so it would fit perfect, even with a trailer hitch. I could probably fit a 35" tire in there now:



Relocated the hoist mechanism forward slightly:
