93 2.4td Surf Intercooler question

Gday fellas

im from australia and have heard abit about this forum from our own forums ( http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au ) and i have a question for you

i have a 1993 2.4l Turbo Diesel Hilux Surf, and i am tryin to put a top mount intercooler on it, i have a Toyota Starlet GT Turbo top mount cooler which seems like it would fit, but i was wondering if anyone else in here has a surf with a similar topmount, the reason for the starlet i/c is that its not as high as the stock r32 skyline i/c and i can do it without a body lift, i have a GU Patrol bonnet scoop awaiting fitting after i get the i/c on.

any help/suggestion/photos of setups would be most appreciated

thanks again from down under

Almost no one in the states will have that motor combination, but a few of us have 2.4L Petro (gas) turbos. I've seen a few trucks with the top mounted inter cooler and actually had the chance to drive/test one of them.

You can see the IC coming out of the hood, just a hair in on this page:

Harry put a custom scoop on it after that, it seals well and functions pretty well at driving speeds. I don't think there is a standard bolt-on way to do this, it just takes time, a little work, and patience.
