Thinking about moving to Fort Collins

My job is thinking about relocating me to CO and I was thinking about Ft. Collins. So let me have it. The good, bad, wheelin, jobs for the lady friend, housing and anything else you can think of that would influence my decision. Most important, will my 88 22re stay alive out there in the middle of winter? Winter isnt much here in East TN and shes gettin up there w/ 226k. A well cared for 226k just so you know. Ive got an 04 Subaru WRX I know I should bring, but would rather sell and have less debt. All help is much appreciated..

I live right outside Colorado Springs, sometimes my car is a little more reticent to start in the winter (of course), and there's a little loss of power due to the altitude, but I don't think it'll kill your vehicle.

I'll tell you though, there are problems that only come out in my car when it's really cold. For instance: the speedo cable binds and makes a really annoying noise when it gets near freezing. Took me a while to figure out what the hell what was...Also, the brakes make a hissing sound and travel way further. Don't ask me what that is, I have no idea.

Speaking of cold my truck hates it. The e-brake freezes, my clutch clicks and a few months ago when it was very cold my truck developed a nasty rattle, after a 800 km drive to a warmer climate (from Fernie to Kelowna) it works the way it should.

"Fort Collins is a drinking town with a college problem." Sports Illustrated (I believe) said this. It's true. It is a college town, which means lots of partying and students. I have lots of friends in FoCo and I like to visit, but much prefer the Denver area to live. My $.02. Big City Burrito is the burrito place that serves until 2-3 in the a.m. Very good burritos...I need to get one of those soon...mmmmmm

Doesn't Fat Tire have their brewery in Ft Collins? That would be all the motivation I need to move there.

Don't forget about the best brewery in town Odell...I would kill for a 5 barrel about now...oh...anyway yes DUI's are bad here so don't drive drunk but other than that I moved here from Boise, IDaho 2+ years ago and will never move away. Jobs are kinda tough to get but cost of living is pretty average. The town and mountains are to die for I also have a modified Integra and the mountain roads are killer!!...just avoid old town on the weekend nights. PEACE!
