If that thing is a 3.0 auto it's going to cost some good cash to get it going again unless you rebuild transmissions and engines and do all your own R&R. Honestly I wouldn't offer the guy any more than $500 myself, but that's the kind of deal I would definitely pass up in a heartbeat. That is just my opinion though.

Not to mention you cannot get a tax credit for the blue book value any more. They have to sell it and you get the tax deduction for the amount it sells for. And seeing how they typically sell at dealer's auctions - they don't get much. I know this well....because I've bought plenty of donated cars for under $250.
