Hello All,

I snapped my parking brake cable right at the ball (attach to the handle) and have been searching for over a month with no luck. I've tried all the local parts store and even the internet. I've order 3 different parts with no luck. I have not found the cable that i need. Wonder if you guys out there know where I can get one besides the dealer. This is what I need.

'85 pick up extra cab. FI with front solid axle and 5 spd tranny. I need a brake cable similar to Dorman part number c93742 with the ball at one end (connecting to the brake handle) and an eyelit at the other end (connected to the link under the right side of the bed). The c93742 is almost exactly what I need, execept is is about 8-10 inches too short (was meant for the regular cab, not extra cab). I need a cable that is about 80" long overall.

Any suggestion would greatly be appreciated.

 

We had to go to the dealer for our 85 xcab (built 8-85).

Thanks guys for the help. I've picked one up on line for about$67 shipped. Solved my problem. I called the dealer with my VIN and they provided me with a part #. I double check with the online vendor and it matched. I have e-brake again.
