speaker volume on new HU

Hi all. I have a 91 4runner. I just installed a new JVC HU, and new front speakers. However, the speaker volume is really low. It sounds fine, but I turned the fader all to the front, and the volume is really low no matter what I do.. This happened with the factory speakers I had in there as well, after I put in the new HU. I checked all my wiring as best I could, seems right. I think I should be getting alot more volume out of these, they are Clarion 4". Any one heard of this before? Any help is appreciated, I am desperate to get these working the way they should. Thanks.

Did you install new wiring for the front speakers or reuse the existing?

JVC has an ATT button that will cut the volume down if you want to talk or something. Maybe that is on?

double check the phasing of your speakers (+ and - terminals hooked up properly)
verify whether the stereo / head unit is BTL (balanced/transformer-less- is typically the case if you have two separate wires for each speaker) and that the - wires to the speakers are separate (not connected to each other in any way) and that they do not connect to ground anywhere
verify that the stereo chassis is adequately grounded

i have a jvc avx2 anda yeah the "mute button" dont worry about that go into your menu on the radio and go to power output there should be amp off, low power, high power low only goes half way on the onbord amo as high power will ring your ears plus id go ahead and replace the 3 feet of wire for the front speakers from the radio to the speakers hope it helps!
