Crossover steering, Why Not?

Well I have a leaky seal on my steering box on my 85 4runner, I wasn't planning on doing any more to it untill this fall as far as serious mods. Now i'm thinking instead of fixing the seal I will swap in an IFS steering box with crossover setup.
I have a rough country 3" spring lift already so I should be good to go-right?
Which kits are best, and any other advise would be helpful.
I was about to remove my sway bar anyway and my local wrecking yard has at least 2 IFS steering units cheap.

The kits are all similar...just make sure you get one with a DOM tie rod. I would recommend .25" wall x 1.25"
Also, all TREs are NOT the same...make sure you get OEM FJ80 rod ends stamped Japan 555.......just dont buy the trail gear TRE's...they are stamped china and look like toothpicks next to the OEM ones

My bet is that it is rough. I have a 3" skyjacker kit and mine rides really rough on and off road. Time to do a chevy spring swap...

It's a little rough now but I have not had a chance to break it in. I think it will be better after my trip to Colorado this summer

Well I ordered the allpro kit last night. I was wavering between Marlin and Allpro both are Hy Steer trade mark kits but I made my decision based on the lower price from Allpro on the steering box mount and...... I didn't have an Allpro sticker yet
