Best Amp For 2 Alpine Subs?
I just bought a second Alpine Type E 10" sub, they're awesome. I was wondering what amp would be the best to power these. Here are some specs on the subs:
10" 4-ohm subwoofer
frequency response: 32-1,000 Hz
power range: 50-250 watts RMS
peak power: 750 watts
Thanks for the help.

i have a fordford fosgaste 600 watt amp that i run 2 12 inch cvr kickers and it sounds great not quite as nice as the kicker kx600 that i had that got stolen....
i would pick up and reputable company mono sub amp about 600-1000watts rms

what is your price range? looking to upgrade later? i personally love alpines pdx series amps (own the pdx 1000.1) they have a super small footprint and can be mounted next to anywhere. pdx 1.600 would be super overkill tho
MRP-M650 might be good bank for your buck at 350$ u.s.

I run a PHOENIX GOLD XS 6600 6 channel amp and it makes my 2 10's bridged boom plenty good plus it runs my 5.25 and 6.26 for a great sound over all.
I just seen a new one on e-bay for $300.00 and when it was new on the market it ran me $800

i don't know if you are interested, but i've got a mint condition soundstream that would make those alpine's sing. like others have said, you really want to look at the rms rating along with the total harmonic distortion (thd). this amp is top of the line in both categories.
it is a soundstream tarantula 680.4 4-channel amp. i bought it from a soundstream dealer who used it as a demo for three months in his personal vehicle but then i never installed it on my part. i decided to go another direction for my project and this is just too much amp for what i need. the specs are as follows:
# NUMBER OF CHANNELS: 4
# OUTPUT (WATTS):RMS @ 4 Ohms 85x4
# RMS @ 2 Ohms 170x4
# RMS Bridged @ 4 Ohms 340 x 2
# T.H.D.: < 0.02%
# Frequency Response (Hz): 10 - 50k
# SIGNAL TO NOISE RATIO: >115dB
# DAMPING FACTOR: >500
# INPUT SENSITIVITY: 0.15 - 12.0V
# CROSOVER SLOPE: 12dB
# CROSSOVER FREQUENCY (HZ): 50 - 5k
# DIMENSIONS (INCHES): 10.75x2.6x20
# Variable hi pass, band pass, low pass
# Variable 18dB bass boost
# Double sided glass epoxy SMT circuit board
# PWM mosfet power supply
# Tri-guard amplifier protection
# SMT cooling fan built in
# Tri-mode capable
# Line output
if you are interested, pm me. i need to let it go and so it goes on craigslist and ebay this weekend. i'd let it go at this point for $300 plus shipping. it retailed for nearly $1000 new. let me know if you are interested, otherwise she gets put on the auction block.

Idayota thanks for the offer but it's out of my price range. Shancerlelby, the MRP-M650 looks nice and there's a couple on Ebay for $80, as of now. Probably a stupid question but what is RMS and what does bridged mean? The specs for the MRP-M650 is 400 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms and 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms. Each Type E 10" is 4 ohm.
