synthetics worth it?

im thinking about going synthetic in my tranny and axle, royal purple probably. what do you guys run? what kind of fluid goes in both? gl-5 in the axle and type F in the tranny?

I am going to run redline- its good stuff. GL-5 in axle, if its a stick I think GL-4 tranny, automatic IIRC is type F

I run Redline in my gear boxes and change them every 40k.

well its in the air, i think royal purple and redline are about equal. thanks for the info!

I've been using Royal Purple for years in everything, engine, trans, transfer, both diffs, their max atf for my power steering and purple ice for the radiator. I've never had an issue with anything. I drain the crankcase every 10k, works great. Good stuff.
