My Very Used Runner

starting a build tread so to speak cuase i keep gettting asked what i've done to my runner...so sit back and enjoy
it's a 89 4runner 3.0L, auto, power everthing,working A/C

here it is stock when i brought it home

it needed some work...needless to say

about a year later when i started to wheel it

i added a AAL to the rear, cranked the t-bars and added a 1" BL, also did small things like diff breathers intake mods and replaced some body panles

soon after TG sliders and a MC rear bumper...ignore that sad excuse of a front bumper/light bar

can't find any pics but about 6-9 months after the rear bunper and sliders i did the chevy 63" springs in the rear, also relocated my shocks, did a u-bolt flip and added a lockrite. as for the front i cranked the t-bars some more finished up most of the body work and painted it 1 solid color

put on the new shoes...33x12.5 BFG MTs

added some other things like a soft top and a hi-lift mount...also removed the carpet from the rear of the truck and hreculined the bed

which brings up to now...the weekend after this pics was taken to cut out an inch and 3/4s out of the rear wheel wells,it was a tight fit as you can see, but not anymore...i also removed the rest of the carpet from the truck and i'm workin on herculining it now.

i'm also gathering parts for my 5spd swap...got my trans yesterday, i have everything but the gear driven t-case,and adpater
im putting in a v6 trans with a 4.7 case on it, i got TG's dual case x-member so if i chose to go that route later, it will work with a single case

ok so today i fix up the trans...i got the trans for $100 it came with the t-case already off of the trans,it was missing the shifter lever, and missing a set of bolts...anyways the previous person unbolted the transfer adpater form the trans and it wouldn't shift that good so i fixed that...

first i had to totaly remove the transfer adapter

when i removed it i found that the shifter forks weren't all alinged so i lined them up and put some new RTV gasket on it...

the last thing was to get the shift rail into the shift forks without misaligning them, and centering it at the same time...i did all that and man it was a pian. i put the pieces back together and toruqed it down...it works great now...sorry no finished porduct pic

you bet...the truck is re-born, has alot more power, response, and toruqe than the sliping auto did.and i love 4lo with this t-case, it's lower than my auto was
i'll get some more pics later...but i had to change the rear d-shaft for a longer one(out of a 5spd truck). and i gained about 2inches belly clearance with the new x-member
