Unhappy Rear Shock problem !!help!!

I have a 93 toyota p/u and purchased some rancho 5000 rear shocks. I went to take off the old ones and there was a noticable difference in apperance, and on top of it the grommets on the shock have holes too small for my posts mounted on the vehicle. Is this normal, can you get new bushings, has anyone had this happen to them? I checked the part number and it matched back to my truck. Kinda confused about the whole thing and cant return them. Any one with advice or anything please would be great. Thanks alot.

Can you re-use the bushings from the old shocks? Shock manufacturers make different bushings for each application, though the shocks are often used for multiple applications.

Yes, you can get new bushings from Rancho, the replacements are red poly urethane. Or you can grind/drill out the smaller bushing ID to fit, or you can try popping the bushings out of the old shocks and put them in the new ones if they are of similar size/shape.

If you're having trouble getting bushings in or out, try vegetable oil.

my Doestch tech shocks came with the bushings. I looked at them for a while and asked, "why did they send me extras?" Then when i tried to put them in and the bolt didn't fit in, i realized, "whoops, guess i need those."
