Shorted something out in my truck.

Long story short, I was wrapping up my 5spd swap and got to the electrical part of the mess. I am still using the auto ecu, when I was jumping wires on the park switch to see which combo was needed to start, something shorted out and now I just get a battery light on the dash and no other lights. The windows do not work, locks, radio, lights all work though. I checked relays and fuses I could find, but they all checked out all right. Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be. ......This is all before I got the idea to just take the park switch off the auto trans and lock it into position temporarily so that I could still drive my truck.

If you've verified you have voltage at the EFI fuse, voltage past that to the main relay, that the relay works, and that voltage then gets to the ECU....then, I believe you've pooched the ECU. (No CEL light would indicate either no voltage to the ECU or that it's no longer working.)

Sorry to hear that. When you refreshened your spirits a bit, go ahead and test the ECU for voltage and at the ignition terminals....(#10-EO1 and #20-EO2 w/ ignition switch on). The ECU procedure is in the FSM ( http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...e/102engin.pdf )...uh, there...

If it fails the testing, look around the YT classifieds. I found a good used one for my '92......$50.
