Ok, so I came across some cool looking shift knobs for cheap, but for the life of me, I can't get these original ones off my 91 PU! I can get the t-case one off, it just unscrews, but is the trans knob the same way? I'm torque'n on it so hard I feel like I'm gunna break something, lol. Thanks in advance.

 

You have a manual, I'm assuming?
Well, its on there good and tight, but the tranny shift know unscrews
just like the Tcase one does. I know what you mean, though. It feels
like if you twist any harder you'll break something but trust me, that knob
will break loose before anything important does.

 

Ight, cool, thanks man. That's what I was think'n, but I just wanted to make sure. I'll put some ass to it tomorrow (I have a rubber-like band wrench that I think will twist em off pretty easily), then maybe I'll pick up the knobs and throw em on. I'll get some pix too so I can show em off

 

you sure it's stock (some aftermarket ones screw into the stifter) if it is you just gotta crank on it (have someone hold the shifter)

 

Yeah, it's the plane ol black hard-rubber-like stock knob... I need something to accent my brushed aluminum gauge bezel, lol.
