Yes, it should say 3RZ since NWRunner has a 3RZ in his 96 4Runner, and they are looking at swaping it into his friends 89.
A lot of work will need to be done, from figuring out a new oil pan, to a new trans or case adapter, wiring, etc etc.

whoops everyone i meant 3rz, to much going through my head right now!
His motor has 250,000 miles on it and will start to die soon, and mine only has 128,000. The 3rz also has more HP and torque.
Plus he is buying the whole thing, for the rear axel and stuff, and he is just wondering if the whole swap is possible.

wait til the motor dies to do that, if its not broke dont fix it. and how do you know it will die soon? if its been taken care of it will keep on goin and goin. a FORD came in the shop the other day, like a 96 or something, with over 300,000 on the odo. then 2 weeks ago a ford tow truck came in with 600,000 something on the odo, original engine. so if a ford can do it, the 22re can, too

So i guess that means you are not selling it to me?
Why would he swap the rear axle? Is he planning on a 5-link setup? He has leafs and you have coils, a direct swap just isn't possible.

since the truck still drives straight and runs good, hes buying it for $3500.
His motor is messed up and needs to be replaced. His whole family is going to cannibalize the car and take different parts they need because they all drive yotas, im just seeing if the motor/tranny swap he wants to do is possible.
the parts will be going to all different years of yotas.
