Looking for Running Land Cruiser under $1000

i'm looking for a Land Cruiser that's running, has a good transmission, brakes and steering. the body can be rusted through and the inside can be rusted to. all i need is a Land Cruiser any year that will get me from Canada/USA to Belize so around 4000miles from Canada.

What i would like:
1975+ FJ40/BJ40 Land Cruiser
I6 Petrol, 6cyl Diesel
Rear ambulance doors
factory winch
folding rear seats

but i'll take what i can get. I should have $1000 around mid-late July or early August.

When I get the cash that I won in the UK lottery, I will buy you an FJ40. If that falls through, I also got a proposition from a wealthy businessman, too, so I'm set. Just send me a check for $700 for shipping via Western Union and I'll take care of the rest.

Seriously, highly doubtful you will find a running (much less a shell) FJ40 for $1000. Good luck, though.

You people really dont know how easy it is to find a nice Land Cruiser for A BUTT LOAD LESS than $1000 in canada (mostly BC). i just thought i would post up to see if anybody on here had one, if i had known that i would get a bunch of wise crack responses i would not have posted.

Ha ha, yeah, if you find any in Canada, please post them up. "[It is easy to find] a nice Land Cruiser for a BUTT LOAD LESS than $1,000..." If it's so easy, why don't you just get one from Canada? Buy 50 and sell them all here in the States for double what you paid for them.

This is just too funny.

PROBABLY BECAUSE I DONT HAVE THE CONTACTS IN CANADA TO LOOK FOR ME. look, when i left Canada just over a year ago i looked in a local newspaper in Quesnel BC and saw a 1973 FJ45 going for $500. BUT I JUST BOUGHT A LAPTOP so i was short of money. and now i learn that i have one more trip up to Canada in 4 years, but i am still expecting some money from the Canadian government.

and FYI cackalak han, i spoke to my american friend who had a few old cars and he told me he sold his 1967 FJ40 for $300 a few months back. And i'm not looking for a completely restored FJ40 OTHER WISE I WOULD HAVE POSTED THAT UP....DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

try pm'ing slacker, islandyota and aviator. those are some canadian members that I can think of off the top of my head,

found this one for $1000 http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/car/624132275.html

anything else that might make was more like $5K+ best of luck in your quest, craigslist has got several canadian cities you can search, but cheapist canadian cruiser was $2200 and it needed work...

Eh, don't give in. So far the cheapest landcruiser in Mo that I've seen was a rusty old fj55 for $900, but it had engine issues.

I know there's several Canadian dudes here but Scofco is the only one that comes to mind right now.
Ah, I see ocdropzone remembered a few more.

You posted because you were looking for help.

You got some helpful responses... and not so helpful responses.

What exactly is the problem?

i really dont want to cause problems on here. and if i'm going to get more bad responses then good whats the point? i'll just PM some canadian members for help instead. and i thank all those who gave me GOOD advise.

i'm having a very bad day. first my brake line bursts so i have to plug the line till i can order SS brake lines from the states. so 3-4 weeks till i get new lines. and then i get "Not very nice" respons's to a simple innocent question.

WHAT NEXT!?
