My suggestion.... just take all the comments on any thread you post up here on YT for what they are worth.

If they are useless to you, move on and wait for the information you are looking for to show up.

thank you 904 runner. this proves that you can get nice, functional cheap LC's for less than $1000. i unfortunatly cant look for LC's right now because i need the money to replace my brake lines. so i lose $100 towards a LC.

 

why dont you just get another 4runner you could get a nice one that would take you back for a grand

 

i was thinking about getting one. but the thing about Belize is that the roads are soooooooooo bad that the less panels, parts, windows...basiclly the less things on a vehicle the better so if you compare say 1975 LC FJ40 I6 against a 1991 4Runner V6 the LC has less panels, less things to come loose or fall off BUT the 4Runner has a better ride, nice features and a few other things. so that is why i am looking for either a LC or a 83' Mojave pick-up.

I am Canadian eh!. Last Cruiser I saw for under $1000 was a total rust heap (no floors even) Seized motor, shot tranny, It didn't even Roll... Brakes seized or diffs maybe. Owner wanted $950

Well I have to back him up, I am only 18 and I know sometimes we say dumb things but don't let age be a factor. If a Native American came in here looking for advice would you turn him away and be blunt and ignorant to him for his race? Whats the difference? I rebuild motors for a living am going to college to be a diesel mechanic and will be making over $60,000 a year at age 21, but hell I am too young to be worth anything right? Don't be rude because of age people please, thats just stupid. Anyways I don't know anything about LCs but I am selling my 4Runner for 3k and it has a shot tranny, I will get flamed sure, but I know I will sell it to the person looking for what I have. That is a very nice find Dare44. if my funds where that high, i would defintly buy that Diesel LC.

 

Let me ask you a question if I may. Why would you want to buy a rust bucket and drive it 4000 miles, put up with Mexican authorities and all that when you could get like, say, a Machito or Bandeirante(fj40) with a diesel engine for South America?
I mean you broke a brake line, A rusted truck will be have way more problems than that. If I were you I would wait until the Canadian goverment pays me to buy something nice.

 

hey man i will keep a look out in quesnel. diesel might be tough tho. its amazing how many are still around, true alot of rot but there are still some good deals around for a 500$ cruiser. i have a free one right now but i have to wait for the snow to melt and get a 69 chevy pickup out of the weeds first then i can haul it out. might need some tyres as its sunk up to the rims. lol.
