Today I am going to purchase OME 883 front/890 rear springs for 3" lift along with a 1" BL from wabfab. (still havn't decided on what shocks I will run, more then likely OME front, and rears unless someone else can chime in

my question is purchased 305/70/16 MTR's..I want to mount these tires on some steelies. what offset do i need in order to clear the perch's?

I ended up buying 16x8 Mickey Thompson classic II's

 

i had this exact setup without the body lift and first of all i would get the 891's or you might have a little reverse rake. but get either 3 or 3.25 backspacing. i had 4.75 and 1.50in wheel spacer to clear. but i would really re think the 890's...

i didn't regear. i have stock 4.33 and am gettin a new clutch next weekend. i really didn't notice that big of a difference form the 33's to the 35's...

 

i would also considering getting the alloys. they will be more expensive on initial cost but they would be lighter and better on the gas mileage. especially when you're getting 33's which are much heavier. It would pay off in the long run. rule of thumb 1lb of centrifical(sp?) weight equals to 10 lbs of dead weight. if you're 305's with steelies would equal to even only 10lbs per tire more than your stock ones that would equal to 400lbs of dead weight on your rig. i've also heard that with 33's you'll get around 15 mpg. i get roughly 19-maybe 20 if its mostly highway. so you would probably get 60miles more per fill up. give or take of course. I just put on 285/75's so i'll see how it affects the gas. especially when gas is expected to hit 4 dollars a gallon this summer you could save moolah! My friend says every mod you do on your truck you're going to have to work for it or give something up. that's very true.

 

Well I guess it depends on a couple things, well the only thing I can think of is miles driven on average I drive btwn 35-55k a year so I'm in my truck allot. I noticed a performance lag from 285 bfg (32") to 295 Nitto (33") I regeared to 4.56's and kabam acceleration was allot better. My brother was running 4.88's and 35's which is the right ratio. how did you end up woth 4.33's I had 4.10's stock so you see why I noticed a difference.

my 4.3's came stock on my car. and ya i guess if your driving that much lol. i drive maybe 20k a year...
