Where is my diagnostic terminal?

On my 85 runner the service book and all web advise including FSM shows my diagnostic terminal to be by the fuse block on passenger fender well. Can't find it -but I do have 2 round plugs on the drivers fender well and I saw a reference to this while searching for info.
Does anyone have tech info on this so I can run codes and set timing etc ?

You must have a service book from a later model truck. On the '85, see below:

I have an 85 4runner. I looked for my diagnostic box forever. I tried using the round connectors on the drivers side to no avail. Finally found it hanging down next to the passenger side framerail. It just fell off the fuse box. Or you may need to use the round connectors as 4crawler stated.
