what would a broken U-joint look like?

I'm finnally getting to my problems(free time). The rear ring-gear is broken. The front.... I don't know. I disconnected the rear driveshaft and attempted to drive home to find the passenger front tire toe-ing in at about 8mph. All the steering components look good. could this be a broken U-joint or a broken front axle?

i say you could have a broken axle shaft. i'd think you wouldn't go anywhere if you popped a u-joint

No. You have IFS, the only u-joint up there is on the driveshaft, the front half-shafts use CV joints. Besides if one were to break it isn't going to change the geometry of the front end, and you sure as hell wouldn't be able to drive on it.

Severely worn bushings, somethings broken in the suspension, loose steering components, or your lift bracketry is falling off. Check your idler arm (opposite the steering box, bolted to frame with hinged arm going to steering center-link), it's a common failure point on IFS. It's on the passenger side, and if it were loose or broken the passenger tire would be affected the most.
