I'm going to be purchasing tires and was wondering if anyone has a pic of a 89-93 pickup 4wd with 30x9.50x15's on it. I want to see how dorky it's going to look. With the price of gas at 3.50 plus and from what i hear it's going to go up even higher I want to see how bad my truck is going to look with 30's on it as opposed to the 31's that are on it now. I've seen a lot of discussion regarding gas mileage and am hoping to increase my mileage. I love my truck and don't want to stop driving it so I"m looking to do anything and everything to get my mileage up to where it won't be so bad to drive. I'm currently getting about 17 to 19 depending on conditions of course. I know that's not bad but if i can get even more would love to do so. Anyone have a pic?

 

I don't know how bald your 31's are but if they're really bad I'd say
brand new 30's will fill the wheelwell about as much as your old 31's do now.

 

Yea its not really that much of a difference. You probably wouldn't even notice the difference IMO

 

Actually the 31's are not bald just cracking real bad so they gotta go. Do you mean not notice much of a difference in gas mileage or performance or both? Just curious how wimpy they'll look on my rig.

 

I meant about the looks i don't think you would even really notice it. 31's are only give what about 1/2" more clearance.

I'm getting a really good deal on the 30's and there on rims already so I'm going to probably get rid of the 31's and put my wrangler 32's on the other set of rims and i'll have a set for off-road and a set for daily putting.

 

It was on it when i bought it. I think its from toyota IMO Its only real function is as a light bar/push bar,well i can drive up and use it as a push bar towards the middle but on the parts around the lights they are kind of flimsy, but it protects the lights from branches and what not. Ive seen them on craigslist around here for $60.

Id get the 30's for DD, and then use the 32's for offroad. Then both sets will last you a long time

 

The worst part about the grill guard is the PO took off the tow hook for it to bolt on in that spot.

Ive been pulled out by the guard, towards the bottom to reduce leverage. And if it got ripped off when i was getting pulled out then i wouldn't have worried about it too much
