My son drove his 88 4runner from north carolina to kentucky. Once here, it missing badly. plus the muffler had a big hole in it, in fact there waws no back to it, the catloic onverter has been removed. It has new plus wires, roter, and distriburot cap. when we put a new muffler on it it barely moves. 0-60 in about 1 minute. prior to that it was about 30 seconds. tinkered around with it checked vacuum lines etc. everything seeems to be ok. I twas nearly out of gas, put 5 gallons of 93 octane in it ( i uspect the fuel pump) diodn twant o have tio much gas anyway after putting in the gass it does accelartte faster but still has a miss and still lacks power it is a 6cylinder any ideas? will knocing hols in the back of he mufler allow it to go faster like it was befroe? dumb i know but he has to make it back

 

timing. check it with a light and adjust if need be.
