truck topper question

So I found a decent truck topper for 50 bucks. The only thing is that the back window and one side sliding window is gone. It's a brahma and the salesman said that there are out of business so a direct fit glass is a no go. He suggested using plexiglass to replace it. What are the pros and cons about plexiglass for this type of application. I'm only using the topper for sleeping in when I go camping this summer. I'm thinking there might be durability questions, questions about the transparency over the long run, and of course prices and if its worth it. I got 2 quotes for 220 and 275. I definitely don't thinks its worth it if that's the case. Do you think that this project is worth tackling. thanks if advance.

If you can do it yourself, do it. I'd use Lexan personally. I'd remove the sliding window that you have and use that as a template for the other, then for the back, make a template out of cardboard.

I have had really bad experiences with Plexi scratching. You might see what a glas shop can do for you. My friend had them redo a slider on his camper for a reasonable price. Do you need it to be clear? Could always put a piece of Alum. on there instead?

plexi is easy to sand down to fit, but yeah it scratches really easy, the stuff i use at work (custome picture framer) dosent turn colors in direct sunlight. A good glass guy can hand cut a window to fit im sure becuase i can.

Ouch, definetly not worth it if its going to cost that much, you could probably find another topper for cheap that has all the glass.
