Joining the club! 2000 4Runner

*EDIT Head to page 3 for some really nice finished pics!

Well, as some of you may know, I purchased a 00 4Runner from a member on here.

The thread is here:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f108...runner-119664/

Finally arrived today! I started immeadietly tearing into the interior, and now its completely stripped down.

Here is a few teaser pics that Alex sent me. They were taken in OH. I hope to have some pics up, and will try to post pics of interior progress soon.

The fender flares are home made!

The grille and bumper are.......homemade as well. But i wont be changing that, its not in the budget.

It will also be up for sale soon, so if you wanna buy it...PM me!

Just curious on why you wanna sell so quick, trying to turn a profit? Looks like a nice 3rd gen with some goodies. Good luck with the interior mods...... pics pics pics!

I bought it essentially to turn it, if I get the right price.

I saw what happened to the poor thing so I decided to save it lol. Im not really modding the interior persay, I am un-modding it.

I don't think the bumpers and flares are hand made as much as they were just Rhinolined by hand. Hope you can sell it since it took 7 months on here before you bought it.

So,how are you "fixing" it?

So you really didn't join the club, your more like using us for what we're worth then kicking us to the curb!! You bastard!

I turn cars myself, but, I never actually tell anyone about it.. except right now.... I only do Fords though. I have too much respect and love for Toyota's, I just can't use them in that nasty way, if you know what I'm talking about.

haha I may keep it a while, i may not.

And yes, those flares really are handmade. Talk to Alex. They look professional, done with fiberglass and resin. Very sturdy, and less likely to break off like the cheap bushwackers.

Im "fixing" it by returning it to stock. The black interior just didn't do it for me, and I also have to replace the rear lock cylinder, handle, and latch (all pieces not mentioned as being bad....grr) due to salt rust.

Man I love everthing about that 4Runner, especially the grille! Congrats on your purchase! I would put some black rims on it though.

WOW

the pics on the sale thread leave me scratching my head. what a waste of an interior. should have sold the cup holder center console and bought something else, and it looks like some one threw up rhino liner all over!

you've got your work cut out for you deathcougar, but you know your way around that stuff and with that donor runner i'm sure she'll be looking sweet again soon.

kudos to you for saving a damsel in distress!

You've certainly seen the before pics. I'll have the after pics tonight when I get home (of the interior at least)

When it gets detailed next wednesday, ill have pics of the whole package.

Fo: Black rims would indeed look great, but not in the budget either. Im considering going back to chrome on the grille and bumper. The front rhinoliner is peeling off, and I dont really care for the grill.

Also removed all the badging off the back, and ordered a BRAND NEW black pearl gate emblem!

reminds me of "flip this house". i'm guilty of this too though. i bought a celica from my friend's little sister after pestering her for years about it. intended to fix it up nice and keep it forever. then i lost my job and it had to go. a little body work and paint, cheap engine fixes, and a nice detail job by your's truely; i made about $1500 on it. and it was a lot of fun to do.

the guy i sold it to said he hit a deer about a week later

can't wait for the "After" pics, i'm sure she'll look sweet!

I do get a 30% discount. Besides that, they are not very spendy new. I'd rather get a new one and not have to worry about scraping, and messing with the old one etc etc. My time is worth more than the difference in cost.

besides they are impossible to find used lol

That's insane. One would think that kind of work would be extremely cost prohibitive on a regular old truck, like our 3rd gens. I can't imagine the amount of work that went into that. You could advertise the truck as having a "custom widebody kit" now to all the import kids.

Well tons of work done tonight! Everything is done, save for the pass seat, A pillar trim, b pillar trim, and quarter trim on the pass side.

I would have pics up but when I got home my girlfriend had the entire kitchen torn up replacing the tile with laminate. Which means my computer is offline, and Im on her laptop. Lame.

I assume you, the interior has undergone a major transformation!!! Looks almost new now!
