Rolled my truck

OK today i was driving and i hit black ice and i ended up rolling my truck on the side. I got it home just alittle while ago and a friend of mine that was with me told me that i sould take the plugs out and turn it over so i took the plugs out and i turned it over but something is not right. What i sounds like is that the starter is turning and the motor isnt turning over. I dont know what it could be. IF you have any ideas let me know. Oh ya i need a drivers side door and frount pannel.

Pull you starter out and check the teeth on the fly wheel and on the starter. Also check and see if the gear on the starter is stuck. When the starter kicks on the gear moves forward and engages with fly wheel. Could take it to a auto store and they might be able to check that out for you if you dont have the means to.

Sorry to hear about rollin your truck. You have any pics?

I know how it feels to roll your pride and joy...

Just thank your lucky stars it was only on the side and not all the way over.

Do check the starter, if that's not what it is, I don't know what to tell you unless I can look at it, and you're too far away! Good luck getting it started, I know it will. After all, mine started after I rolled it back over from it's side (it sat for around 15 minutes) and I had to drive it back 2 miles to my house with a rolled cab. Got the cab swapped and I'm still driving it today!

If the starter turns and the motor is truly not rotating then it would sound horrible. Lot's of grinding and nasty noises.

Do you mean the engine won't fire?

If that's the case, check for loose wires and connections.

If the engine won't rotate via starter, maybe you can see if it rotates by hand by attaching a socket to your crank pulley bolt and turning clockwise. This will give you a better "feel" of what may be going on inside.

ok if im reading this right, the reason it sounds like this is because your spark plugs are not in the cylinders therefore when you crank the motor no compression builds up so it would sound like just your starters turning but reallyy your crank is turnig as well. You can test this by putting your spark plugs back in, turn the key and see if it sounds normal..

sorry about the truck that sucks.

or get a buddy to peer in the sparkplug hole while you crank it. believe me, he'll be able to tell if it's cranking - especially when there's water in the cylinders! mwahhaha
