engines stall when I hit the gas

I just got finished replacing the knock sensor wire, manifold gaskets, timing belt, water pump, pulleys, and acc belts. Truck ran fine before, other than being low on power from knock sensor code. Now when I start it and hit the gas the engine stumbles and stalls. If I let off the gas quick it will recover. If I ease on the gas pedal slowly it will rev, but misses. Idle is fine. I just replaced plugs, dist cap, wires. Timing is correct and all hoses hooked up. I'm don't know where to look for the cause.

both cams at tdc and pulley at zero mark? did u try advancing/retarding your timing from the distributor? twisting the distributor clockwise (down)retard, counterclockwise (up) advance...

Is the intake tube between the Throttle body and the air flow meter torn or cracked? Might be hard to spot, squeeze the tube while the engine idles,if it's cracked the engine will stall/stumble.

What engine? 22re, could be TPS. If so pull off cable and see if you can rev it without the stumble.

One of my spark plug boots had came loose on passengers side, didn't think to check them at first since I didn't take them off. Pushed it back on when I was going over everything again and its running fine now. Thanks for the suggestions.

Check the TPS, if its bad it can cause the problems your having. Have you ever replaced the fuel filter ?.

Hopefully it's something that you've overlooked, but it could be a bad TPS or even an airflow meter.

What motor do you have?

Looking under "engine stall". If you have a 22re, same components apply to the symptom.
